This week on Crime Wave: Bonnie Kistler joins me to talk about her Edgar-nominated psychological thriller, SHELL GAMES. Julie Hoffman’s wealthy mother, Kate Sawyer, might be the victim of an elaborate con or might be losing her mind.
Kate says her new husband, Charlie, confessed to a notorious unsolved crime; Charlie says she imagined it; the FBI says Charlie couldn’t have committed the murders. Julie doesn’t know where the truth lies—but when she digs deeper into the past all sorts of cracks emerge, both in her mother’s life and in her own.
