A Conversation with Gabriel Urza

This week on Crime Wave: What if justice isn’t something the legal system is truly capable of?

New public defender Santi Elcano is tasked with defending Michael Atwood, a man arrested for a young mother’s brutal murder. Although Santi’s idealism has begun to wear thin, he believes in Atwood’s innocence. But public pressure leads to a rushed trial, and Atwood is convicted. Eight years later, Atwood, now on death row, sends Santi a letter that forces him to reconsider everything he once believed and all that it has cost him. Love, family, and friendship.

A brief note like this one can’t do justice (pun intended) to Urza’s electrifying, emotionally charged tale of systemic failure and moral ambiguity.
